Question / Help HD PVR2 video delays at fluctuating or even rate? For Mic sync...

Ok so I understand that the footage delay coming from the HD PVR2 is a given. It's the natural cause of buffering, processing and sending data over usb. The issue is that Voice input from an audio interface and mic gets recorded directly in OBS instantly, however the footage that is coming from the HD PVR comes in with a delay.

Now I know that there is a delay feature in the voice recording input. But by how many seconds should I delay the voice? Is the HD PVR delaying the footage at a constant rate? Or does the footage delay fluctuate meaning in the beginning of the stream, the footage will come in with a 2 second delay but the longer you have the HD PVR send to OBS, the longer that delay becomes? If it fluctuates then using the voice delay is pretty much futile. it will still be off sync with the footage over time.

In general, the delay from the capture card should be pretty constant. If it's not, something is going wrong somewhere in the process. You can use audio monitoring to get things synced up, the delay will be different for everyone. Start at something like 1000ms and adjust as needed.

Well say I pin point it, I have an audio click that i send to the mic and hd pvr and use that to compensate by syncing the two clicks. Will they audio stay in sync throughout the entire stream provided there are no aforementioned discrepancies in the process? Say I pinpointed the delay to be 1.75 seconds. Would it stay the same because it's some buffer setting or would it increase as the hardware continues operating under load?

Assuming your PC does not become overloaded and fall behind on decoding the audio/video from the card, it should remain constant.

Seems like it might be, yesterday I've set the sync time to about 800ms... toady it was out of sync with the same settings. Guess that's a no for live streaming for me then...
