Question / Help Having trouble. Wondering if anyone can help.

My obs takes like 3-5 (sometimes longer) full seconds to respond when I press a button. I'm not playing a game. I'm not recording video. I'm not doing anything. It glitches as soon as I open the program. It all started after my computer crashed and I had to take it to a computer store to reset it. EVERYTHING concerning this computer works like a charm, EXCEPT for OBS. That's literally it. Can anyone help me out with this problem or am I just screwed?

☑ What did you try to accomplish?
☑ What has happened (wrongly) instead?
☐ What environment are you using? (system specs and obs version)
☐ What did you try to find the cause?
☐ Are there error messages or log files? (%appdata%\obs-studio\logs, upload to pastebin if they're too large to use code tags here)
☐ Has it ever worked? What did you change?

All participants on the forum are volunteers. I'm just a newbie myself, but I do know if this is a serious program-side issue, the people who are best able to take care of it would greatly appreciate some patience and calm as we work through your problem.

If your computer crashed and someone else had to restore it, it is possible your video drivers are messed up or something worse happened to your gpu but we won't know without your log and some more information.

1. I tried to literally just USE the program. I downloaded it. And it just takes forever to respond.
2. Nothing happened. I got frustrated and uninstalled it. Tried reinstalling it today and I'm still having the same issue.
3. Windows 7, 8gbRAM/64-bit/intel core 2/ downloaded the newest version. I have used it before and it worked perfectly, but like I said, after the computer store reset my dell, the only program that seems to be out of wack is OBS.
4. Searched as many forums as I could to try to find the cause, but couldn't find anything. So I've come here as a last resort. This is literally my first post here.

Are there any log files generated at %appdata%\obs-studio\logs ? If so, copy the contents of the latest file and past them here between CODE tags.

Uh. Like I said, I uninstalled the program after getting too frustrated. Is there a way I could still get the appdata?

Did it fail to while installing? or did it install and just not run? Also did you check the appdata folder? If it's not there, then no, it's not possible. If it is then... it is.

If you currently do not have it installed, then try running ccleaner to get rid of any leftover files, then reinstalling it.

It didn't fail while installing. It installed completely with no hassle. I would click a button and it would be damn near 10 seconds before it would respond. And I use ccleaner like it's going out of style. Last time I tried it was last night. Still no luck. That's why I'm here hoping to find a solution. Is there an older version of obs studio? Not classic, but studio. Maybe I could give that a try.

did you try both the 32 bit and the 64 bit installer? Have you done a complete system scan for viruses and other issues since you got it back?
