I've been dealing with OBS Studio for quite a few months, ever since it started off as Multiplatform. And i've been hating it. At some point, i was basically forced to use Studio as Classic just suddenly would never open for me for months (recently i got it to work again, but i have no idea how). I've been having to deal with numerous problems as i was using Studio.
The first was the framerate, which isn't anything new at this point due to an existing thread here. Classic is able to stream with minimal frame drops, yet with Studio, just moving the mouse around for a full minute makes the frame drops jump high. I've fiddled with the bitrate and the quality settings, lowering the bitrate, putting it to ultrafast, trying different setups outside of CBR... but to no avail. I've even tried different servers, but that didn't help things much as i've stuck with the Australian Sydney server for Twitch. I've also tried Twitch Broadband Test, however every test i made would give me Quality 0 for some unknown reason, so i could never tell which would be the better server.
The second problem is alot more extreme. As i stream on Twitch, i usually stream for at least 2 hours every time. Even though i do have the issues of frame drops, nothing too bad happens for the most part until after the stream. What should be a 2 hour VOD, always turns out as 30 minutes, with remaining footage being completely gone forever. Because of this, i am forced to always record while streaming so i never lose it, and later upload it to YouTube so everyone can watch the whole thing, and not just 30 minutes of it. This, again, never happens on Classic, as the streams always show up 100% with no missing footage whatsoever. This only ever happens when i stream with Studio and it happens every time.
The final problem is buffer. Lately, the buffer has been extreme and i have 0 idea why, as nothing has changed and it has never acted this way before. Not only is the buffer in Classic very minimal, but even older versions of Studio didn't have buffer problems this bad compared to the latest build i had. When i did a 3 hour stream, instead of it ending after 30 seconds to a minute at best, it kept going and it was still at the 1 hour mark. It was at that mark for the entire 3 hours. That was the first time it's ever happened to me and i have 0 clue why. This shouldn't even be a problem, yet it is, and the buffer error was big as the time it would take for it to end would be over 6 hours.
I have since uninstalled Studio is frustration and just being sick of all these problems, however i've searched everywhere for months, including this forum and haven't found anyone else experiencing this problem. When i get responses, people tell me it's either my internet or Twitch that's at fault, NEVER Studio, god forbid. And yet, these problems ONLY happen with Studio. It's never with any other streaming software, not even Classic OBS. Just Studio. So i'm making this thread in the hopes that maybe someone can help me. I'm unsure if i can get a log file now that i've uninstalled Studio, but if i am still able to, i'll make sure to post it here.
