Question / Help Having issues with game capture - black screen or corrupted red visual [SOLVED]

So I'm trying to get used to using OBS Studio. Would be primarily used for recording, so I've been setting it up for a few days. It captures screen and sound without any problems but struggles with game capture. Most of the times, it will only show me a black screen, the only other time I've gotten it to work, it showed me a red, "corrupted" visual.

For some reason, I can't get game capture to work at all most of the time. Black screen, that's it. I've tried launching OBS as administrator, I've tried ticking anti-cheat compatibility hook, I've tried different capture modes but no in the end, I've found no consistent way of getting my game capture to work reliably.

The one time I got any kind of visual, it was all red and looked corrupt. Now then, I've read that the red visual is because I haven't chosen DX11 as the renderer. This isn't however the case, as it in fact is my only renderer option. I have only DX12 installed though, could that be the cause of the issue?

I've attempted game capture with only two games, having received the red screen tearing visual from PUBG (other times I tried ended up being a black screen, the other game I tried this with was Gang Beasts, black screen there as well).

I'm kinda lost here, and I'm very new to the whole recording software. Please pardon me for being very ignorant in this matter, it's all very complicated to me. Help would be much appreciated.

Oh my goodness, you're a god. I encountered some troubles (because I had to mess with the registry to make sure win10 didn't auto-install driver updates... my mouse cursor started flickering uncontrollably afterwards and I had to fiddle around with that until it just kind of fixed itself. Also I have to install Voicemeeter Banana and probably some other stuff all over again) along the way, but now I get clear visual from OBS Studio.

Thank you very much for the simple yet working solution!
