Hauppauge PVR2 GE, HDMI input, no sound?

Can someone help with this?

I'm using the HDMI input to my PVR2, selecting Video Capture Device in OBS gives me great video but no sound.
I clicked on the Configure Crossbar button and tried all the audio selections there and no go.

If I launch Hauppauge Capture app I have video and sound. Leaving the Capture app open, I can see the video and have sound in OBS if I select the OBS Window capture but that is not the quality I'm looking for. I would like to use what the PVR2 is outputting to my PC, not a window capture.

If I can get video using the Video Capture Device, shouldn't I also get the audio?

I have read a ton of OBS and PVR2 posts on the net and none address the issue.

Unfortunately Hauppage devices are notorious for being flaky and problematic. If possible, I'd recommend returning it if you are still within the returns window and buying another capture device.
There's a reason Hauppage crap is sold cheap.

I actually have 3 PVR2's and have zero problems over the years using the Hauppauge Capture app. I make very high quality 1080P Blu_Ray discs with ease with them. I would like to try to record a few videos with OBS to see what it can do. As I stated I can see the video with OBS, just need to have the audio also.

OBS used to work with my HD PVR2 GE edition just fine - until an update I made to the Hauppauge driver made OBS unable to decode the audio from it. I posted that issue here:

Hauppauge released a Windows driver update (version 1.6.37119.0) that was applicable to my HD PVR2 Gaming Edition that added the ability to capture 5.1 audio rather than simply stereo, so I applied that update. Indeed, Hauppauge Capture 1.2.38155 functions correctly and I can now capture 5.1...

and updated it recently. So, it was definitely that update to the Hauppauge driver that broke it for me - it's an update that enables 5.1 audio capture in Hauppauge capture, which I like, so I'm not going to downgrade it to the version before that worked.
