I am using OBS to record a demo of my OpenGL game (not streaming, just recording). I tried all the stuff mentioned in other the threads about dropped frames, but it's still dropping some frames. I am wondering if buying a dedicated GPU would help. My game runs at 60 FPS easily on the iGPU (Intel HD 2600), but once OBS starts up it immediately drops to 45FPS and intermittently spikes down to 22FPS and even 6FPS. I am recording at 30 FPS using QuickSync and tried every different combination of parameters possible, but it always drops frames. I'm thinking that it's simply that the iGPU simply cannot handle the load. If I buy a GTX 1050, or similar do you think it would fix the problem? Any advice is most welcome.
