hardware encoder support

Being new to OBS and trying to get it working for streaming services, I could use some guidance.
I am trying out OBS on two older machines, an 2012 iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB and a 2012 Mac Pro with a Radeon RX580 8192 MB PCI card.
Neither of them show up as options in the Encoder section of the Settings.
Each show Software (x264) and the Mac Pro shows Software (x264 low CPU present, increases file size.
I have included the current text file from the iMac and it shows Loading up OpenGL on the adapter NVIDIA... so it uses the hardware at one point, but it can't be selected in Settings.
Also notice a few Failed..., Could not load..., Could not find...
Should I install VLC ???

Thanks for you help

I could not upload the log on the iMac. had a "SSL peer handshake failed, the server most lily requires a client certificate to control. osX is 10.10.5.

Here is the Mac log showing it accesses the 580 while streaming, I think.
