I am old but new to the game of trying to record video from a web cam and audio from my SM57 on the Motu stack (ASIO). I stumbled across this app after trying my old Humble Bundle copy of Sony Vegas and then VLC, both of which were disasters. OBS made this easy. After all, what I am attempting to do shouldn't be that difficult.

I'll get back to you if and when it blows up. But for now, kudos to the dev team.

I'm another happy user.
My only caution is that OBS is a powerful tool, so be sure to take some time reading the guides on this site, and maybe a few intro videos oriented towards your use case. And feel free to research and then if still stumped, or just curious, to post here asking your question(s). IF you are asking for troubleshooting assistance, notice the pinned post in this forum (link in .sig) to posting your OBS log (with a recording/streaming session, if at all possible)
Then, there are lots of plugins made by various people (so of various maturity/quality/stability levels). For my non-gaming use case, I found Advanced (not the built-in Automatic) Scene Switcher to be critical to my workflow.
- enabling auto-start of recording based on time, and entire opening sequence to a livestream with countdown timer
- a nice fade to black ending sequence,
- and lots more.
Another example - I used another plugin so I could monitor time left on a pre-recorded video.
It all depends on what you are trying to do.
Welcome and enjoy
