Question / Help H1Z1 lagged while streaming in 720p with i5 4670k

Hey,

I am writing to you because I want to ask about one thing. When I am streaming H1Z1 in 720p my game lagged so much. I can not pick up any times etc. When I lowered my output scale to 576p it changed and it is much better now. I can pick up items and the game is no longer lagged. I want to ask what I should change in PC to be able streaming H1Z1 in 720p/1080p with such a big comfort as on 576p? The game was lagged because of CPU or GPU?

PC:
CPU: i54670k
GPU: GTX1060 6GB
RAM: 16GB 2333MHz
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
PSU: Thermaltake Smart SE 530W
OS: Win 10 64bit

Best regards,
Domin1Q

You would have to check your CPU and GPU load while playing the game, it could even be your internet not able to stream at 720p/1080p properly.

Hey dude. It can not be internet connection. I have got 250 download and 25 upload. Also I did not drop any frames and I stream with 3500 bitrate.

if you are using x264 that processor cannot handle the encoding and H1 at the same time. I had an i5 4570 and had the exact same issues. Upgraded to an i7 6700k and issue is gone entirely. If you wanna try this out too, go to your task manager and see if OBS and H1 are taking up 100% CPU

I was looking at the task manager and when I stream H1Z1 my CPU usage is almost for all the time at 100%.

That's the problem I had with mine. I would take the advise of NVEC if you have a good GPU. I did that and worked very well with the cost of FPS of course. But that fixed for me until I have the money to afford an i7.

I have same problem with i5-3570k on 4,5GHz. But only in a lobby where is so much people and eating so much CPU. If u dont want this just limit your ingame frame rate.

Domin1Q, rever3nce gyazos show he is using OBS Classic.
For NVENC settings with Studio you can check my profile, info section.
My PC is worse than yours and I can stream. Note: I don´t play H1Z1, mainly CSGO.

@fyve, for the next time, open your own thread and provide a log

H1Z1: in other threads the advice is reducing FPS ingame.

open a new thread and post your obs log after the issue.

@Domin1Q your 720p log has

[rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] Connection to rtmp://live.hitbox.tv/push failed: -3

can you re run this as there is no details due to th failed steam?

You can change the cpu preset to ultrafast from veryfast and work back from there if you are having lag. The lag is due to your cpu i expect being overloaded with x264 encoding. If it lags on ultrafast you need to run a lower rez stream e.g 540p or change the CPU / OC it.

Nvenc will remove the cpu load on to the dedicated gpu chip but it doesn't handle low bitrate well which you are using with 2500. You can try it @ 720p 30fps i would use 540p x264 software.

@Beardedbob it's werid beacuse I stream to Twitch. Also my settings are 720p, veryfast, 3500 bitrate and 4000 buffer at least this settings I have got in OBS Studio.

I have no lags when I use ultrafast but the quallity is much worst with fast scenes on stream. :/

EDIT:
I stream with 29,97fps can this cause the problem?
