Hi,

(If this is the wrong subforum please let me know and I will move it. I double post in Mac and Linux subforum since I do not know which route to go yet)

I need some help with selecting a portable hardware setup.

The most important part is to have the audio decent, which I will record line in. I will save the stream to hard drive in higher resolution than I stream.

Computer?

I have an old MacBook that I would like to use if it is possible. I can upgrade it to have 8 gig ram and put in a SSD. I could also install Linux on it if that would make it work. Or even Windows.

Specs: MacBook 13" late 2009
Processor 2,26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4GB
Graphic: NVIDA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

Webcams?

I have a collection of old wecams that I want to stream with, the more I can connect the better. This is for creative purposes. I figure I should get a powered usb hub.

Some of these webcams show up on the mac, but many only show up on windows. Some not at all.

Is there a way to force them visible (like some kind of generic driver or "raw" mode)?

Thanks, sorry for noobyness. :)
