Question / Help GTX 1060 Gpu & i7 7700 CPU

I have been trying to record gameplay with OBS however a lot of it seems to be okay quality but is choppy/so freezes within the recording>
Settings i have tried:
Output mode: Simple
Quality: Indistinguishable Quality, Large file
Format: mkv
Encoder: Software x264

Video settings are:
Base & output: 1920x1080
Downscale filter: Bilinear
FPS:60

Any/ all help is greatly appreciated

Use nvenc instead of x264 as encoder. This will significantly lower the system load.
