Grouping filters in folders

If you need that many filters, there's probably something else wrong.

The vast majority of things are not that bad to start with. If they are, they're probably beyond cleaning up anyway. Don't add more processing; fix the raw source! De-noise the room itself, for one example. A mess of filters should be a red flag, so don't take that flag away by hiding what a mess it is.

This is coming from an audio guy who's built a bunch of different rigs, both analog and digital:
The only processing ("filters") on the rig shown there, is:
  • Invert for each of 40 input channels
  • Highpass for each of 40 input channels (OBS is sorely lacking that at all)
  • 4-band semi-parametric EQ (much better than OBS's EQ) for each of 40 input channels
  • Total of 8 combined compressor/gates, to be allocated wisely across the 40 input channels and 8 submixes
  • Total of 2 general-purpose FX channels that are practically never used
  • Some PA adjustments that are behind a screwed-down cover, never to be touched outside of tuning the speakers themselves
If that were copied to OBS, there would only ever be a maximum of 4 filters per channel. No need for folders. And it sounds great!
Anything beyond about that number of different processing units, really needs to look at the source itself and fix that.

I'm using filters to create specific aspects ratio for different systems (consoles, retro PCs etc.), i want to create folders for specific systems and enable disable them when i switch between them.
After using different profiles etc. for years i found that this is a better option for me, i'm already doing it successfully, folders would make everything easier.

enabling\disabling large groups of filters could also be used for complex bot behaviors, i think there's a reason for them.

Create a group, add the input to the group, apply the filters to the group and repeat.
