Question / Help Green video when imported to Adobe Premiere

Just what the title says. when ever I go to import a recording to APP, the videos are green with only sound. happens on any encoder I try (nvidia and h264 cpu bases).

was working just fine a few hours ago when I made a new video for my youtube channel, so this is a really random issue. rolling back my nvidia drivers didn't help at all either.

any one else ever experience this before?

*EDIT*

would like to add that any streaming I do to youtube gaming or twitch works just fine.
if I click play on the video, it DOES play, but it's really fuzzy and extremely choppy.

I hate to be "that guy" that bumps a topic, but this isn't just a matter of not being able to use my footage...it's cutting into my business.

Is the issue only appearing in APP? Do the files play back normally in your default media player?

First, please share a log of a recording to speed up troubleshooting.

It sounds like a decoding issue and probably means that the file is getting errors when encoding it. Since you mention that it's fuzzy and extremely choppy I assume that you're dropping lots of frames.

APP's way of showing decoding errors for these files is probably just to show a green picture instead of a weird color smear or other errors.

I also have a full Creative Cloud subscription myself. If you don't mind sharing a short clip I can try importing it in a Premiere timeline.

But start first by just sharing a log :)

here's the log: https://gist.github.com/1f07cac1fd5dccce7f5cf07403ece39c

and yep! the videos look just fine when played back in VLC or PotPlayer.
and as far as any dropped frames go, OBS never indicates I'm dropping any frames at all. but I'll see if I can upload a video to my drive account and share it here. give me a min :)

Well, if it was working fine, and now it isn't, something must have changed in your system or settings between then and now. Any idea what it might be?

absolutely no idea. no updates, no driver upgrades, no settings changed, nothing at all lol that's why this has me scratching my head.

The clip imports and plays just fine in Premiere for me.

However, I notice that the file is getting encoded with the high444p profile even though you have it set to main - I guess because you're doing a lossless encoding.

Try using a low CQP value instead. Start at 16 and see how you like the quality. It should be near indistinguishable from lossless.

If you still want true lossless, try x264 instead and see how that plays back for you.

this problem occurs even if I do CPU based x264 as well. that's why this has me stumped haha
