Hello all,
I recently started converting old V8 tapes to MP4 files. I use an EasyCap stick, my old Sony camcorder and OBS. The weirdest thing keeps happening:
I play the tapes and usually they have a great quality which I can record and convert into an MP4 file. However, some parts of the tapes show severe green distortions. This is strange because when I connect the camcorder to my TV, these distortions are not there. I have tried:
-using different recording software: Same issue
-connecting the camcorder to the tv: No issue
-connecting the camcorder with easycap stick to different laptops: Same issue
-use different cables to connect the camcorder to the EasyCap stick: same issue
Sometimes, when I leave the camcorder and try again the next day, these distortions don't show anymore (not very often unfortunately).
At first, I thought there must have been damage to the tapes but after seeing that there are no distortions when connecting the camcorder to the TV, I realised that can't be the problem.
Is it possible that the EasyCap stick is faulty or is there a potential solution to this problem? Thanks for taking the effort to help me with this in advance!
