Hello, I get the message, that ''there is an error while opening of the NVENC-Codecs function not implemented. Please check if your graphics driver is up to date''. I have checked it and its up to date. its a NVIDIA GeForce GT 630, my OS is 8.1. What can I do? Is there a work-around solution? Many thanks,

I might be missing something here, but I don't believe that GPU supports NVENC. https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix
EDIT: I lied. It looks like it does support it. But, to what extent I can't say. Perhaps attempt to use DDU to completely uninstall the driver and reinstall it either manually or through Geforce Experience.

Why do I encounter this error in OBS Studio? Failed to open NVENC codec: Function not implemented. More importantly, what can I do to resolve it so that I can record? This is a new install of OBS

Check on https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx if you really have the current driver installed. Most likely it isn't. The current version as of this writing is 456.55.
In case you want to use x264 in OBS, simply select it in Settings->Output->Recording->Encoder.
