Question / Help GPU usage/fps drops with NVENC

I've been trying to get NVENC encoding to work now for a while. Everytime I stream using the NVENC encoder, at the start everything works fine with the GPU at 99% and a solid 144+ FPS. But after a period of time my GPU utilization drops drastically from about 99% to 40-50% which causes my FPS in-game to also drop.

Spec:
GTX 1070
i5-6600K @ 4.2GHz (Overclocked) <-- the issue was apparent before I overclocked
16GB Ram

I've tried x264 but my CPU isn't powerful enough to provide a good enough image quality without causing FPS issues or encoding overloaded. I really want to get NVENC working so that I can stream and keep a good framerate but it's literally unplayable to have my FPS drop from about 144 to 30.

Bumbing this.
I have the same issue, but mainly when playing games like PUBG.
As soon as I start the stream, using the NVENC (or even the QS) encoder, fps starts dropping from average 100+ to about 60 on average... Thats a quite heavy drop which shouldn't happen, as the newer cards has a dedicated chip for said tasks (Encoding in OBS, ShadowPlay etc.) without hitting performance...

Oh, this only happens whilst streaming, not when recording with the exact same settings.
