Hello, I am going to be setting up GPU passthrough on my arch linux build so that I can run a windows VM with high performance.
However with this, I am thinking of getting a capture card to help with encoding as the VM itself will be adding extra strain to my CPU.
My monitor which I play games on is 1440p 144hz. I have no intention of streaming with such settings, will be downscaling to either 1080p@60 or 720P@60. Which capture cards are currently able to detect that signal. I have seen the Intensity Pro 4K can, but by the looks of it, can only support 30FPS, but does not specify its performance at 1440p.
Elgato has no Linux support, and apparently needs to be attached to a board which boots to windows.
Edit: Or if OBS will be fine by itself. PC Specs are i7-6700k 4core (most likely 2/4 will be the VM) and a GTX 1080. So NVENC is an option, but planning ahead just incase.
