Hi, so I was wondering if you can record with a worse gpu (1650 super) and play games with a more powerful one to reduce load.
Based on previous posts, I gather this is not possible?
This is because it's not an integrated gpu, so I'm assuming that the gpu feature in advanced settings will not work?
Simply wanting to use NVENC encoding because of wider support and multi usage with small games, while I am aware of AMD's update to their encoder a few months ago and OBS's recent update to patch support further.
I am also aware of crossfire/sli support and implementation being dropped a while back.
Also assuming
I keep seeing posts of how it's not possible due to bottleneck and other problems, but can I get some further elaboration if not feasible?
TL;DR: Can you run a second gpu for encoding on OBS to reduce load and use NVENC?
Thanks!
Have a nice day!

Question / Help - Not able to select second GPU for encoding
Hello Folks! I currently in the process of re configuring my recording/streaming setup. I bought an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro (PCI-e) capture card to get the HDMI-Output of my main GPU (AMD R9 280x) without sacrificing any GPU Performance. My Idea was to use my unused AMD HD 8570 (OEM-Card...
Question / Help - 2nd PC: Minimum GPU for Hardware Encoding 1080p60?
Hello All, I am trying to learn what is the minimal GPU needed for encoding NDI from gaming rig and give good stream quality at 1080p60? I am in the process of putting together parts for a new gaming rig and wanted to possibly recycle my old system as a 2nd PC streaming rig. I was informed...

I would like to know whether i can use and setup OBS to use a second GPU (GTX 960 2G) to use for video encoding compression thing??? i am not sure myself but it seems as though NVENC uses GPU resources to do what ever it does. now i tried doing it when using my 1080 but GTA V stuttered so badly a...
2nd gpu for encoding with obs
On obs I noticed that you can either select your gpu for encoding or use software encoding. I have a 1080 in my system now. If I were to throw my old 960 4gb in as well and select that for encoding, would there be any benefit?
