Question / Help Good fps - feels laggy when recording

Hi!

I'm trying to record different games, which I've got 144+ fps on (144hz monitor). When playing regularly, without recording, everything's smooth and consistent. However, when recording, the fps is still good, but the game just feels laggy, like a lower framerate - not smooth at all. Does anyone have any idea what the reason could be? This applies to all games - whether it's 250 or 150 fps.

The reason is that OBS uses GPU resources. Hard to comment much further without a logfile that contains a recording or streaming session, but OBS uses GPU resources to work, and it does this work constantly while open-- even when not recording or streaming.
