Question / Help Good computer, choppy recording. (log included)

I'm just trying to record my desktop to capture an animated wallpaper I made in wallpaper engine. I want to get 1:1 settings, I want the quality to be at least as good as what I see with my own two peepers if not, better if possible.

1440p, 60FPS, 40k bitrate, lowest or no audio settings where possible, tried both encoders, Nvec gave me an error when I clicked start recording so I changed it to x264.

16GB RAM, 6700k @ 4.3Ghz regardless of what the log says, and GTX 1070.

I've tried CPU speed at ultra fast, fast, and slow, similar choppy results for all.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Reset Settings->Advanced->Color format back to the default NV12.
And for recording, don't use CBR as rate control. It's for streaming, not for recording.

It's not clear if a i7-6700k is able to encode 1440p@60, so use nvenc (new). Choose simple output mode, indistinguishable quality. If nvenc gives you an error, make sure you have a current nvidia driver installed (if you didn't download and install a new driver from the Nvidia website this year, do it now). Also make sure you disabled shadowplay in case you have geforce experience installed. In case you have a VR headset, disconnect it, because it might also steal one of the two allowed nvenc sessions.

Okay, that fixes the issue, thank you. But the reason I had RGB rather than NV12 enabled before is because the default color profile appears very washed out and bleak.

Nevermind. I finally got a smooth okay looking video with RGB. I made it 1080p and changed the bitrate to 36k and FPS to 48. Looks a lot better now.
