Question / Help Getting Distortion with capture card

I use a Razer Ripsaw. Today when I tried streaming with it I was getting a lot of audio distortion (popping/crackling sounds) and visual distortion (lines going up and down the screen) in OBS. I swapped HDMI cables and they're not at fault. I don't have another USB-USB cable so I can't check if it's that. However, I realized that what I see on my monitor (the playstation feed itself rather than my OBS preview) is just fine and the problem is just what I see and is getting captured with OBS. Could it be a problem with OBS? If I find another power cable and that's the problem, I'll update here, but I wonder if something could be going on with OBS.

From personal experience, I've always had random problems trying to capture 1080p60 over my ripsaw. Most of the time it doesn't recognize a signal, and even when it does it will just freeze capture after around 10 minutes.

The HDMI passthrough that you see (the playstation feed you're sending to your monitor) is not touched by any sort of processing, and will work regardless of what's happening internal to the ripsaw (just as long as it has power).

Since you're seeing your passthrough just fine, that means the HDMI cables are fine. That just leaves your USB connection/bandwidth. You can try switching USB ports, or unplugging other USB3 devices.

The only "solution" I have is a workaround by just outputting 720p from the source... which is less than ideal.
