Hello all! First time here!
Gaming PC Specs:
Windows 10 (game mode disabled)
i7-Gen 3
GTX 1060 3gb
16 gb ram
2560x1440 @ 144hz
Recording PC Specs: (Elgato HD60s)
HP EliteBook 8560w
Windows 7
i7-2627m
Nvidia Quadro 1000m
8 gb ram
1920x1080 @ 60hz
I use OBS on two machines to record gameplay, just for fun. I run OBS on my gaming PC, capture the primary screen, send to the Elgato, and my laptop picks up the signal and records on its end.
Some games work without any perceivable issue (Sven-Coop, Insurgency, EDF 4.1, Blood and Bacon), I play on my gaming pc at 144 hz, and the recording laptop is happily chugging along at 60 fps. However some games have TERRIBLE lag (i.e., slide show) on the recording laptop, though the game is running at a smooth pace on my gaming PC; this happens on games like Skyrim and Dying Light.
Worse yet, is that the problem seems somewhat intermittent. I can play Skyrim, and see the recording laptop recording like a slide show, then I enter a building or new area in the game and suddenly it starts recording at 60 fps. Then the problem can resurface seemingly randomly, I'll notice the recording being very choppy, even though the game is running full speed on my computer.
Has anyone encountered issues of this nature? Is there any fix?
