Games not hooking correctly

Evening all

Been having a problem the last few days where for some reason games are not being picked up properly by OBS. For example, Dawn of War Soulstorm and Doom II. I see the red box on the preview as if it is attempting to pick it up, but it never seems to display, and the red box just flashes.

On rare occasions, if I load up a map in DoW or after I have selected my difficulty in Doom, it suddenly works. It's as if the hooking is extremely delayed. Occasionally remaking the scene/source fixes it, but sometimes it doesn't. Seems inconsistent.

Is this something people have come across before, and if so, how did you fix it? I'm thinking of nuking the installation, but it does this on the Streamlabs version of OBS as well. Could something else be latching onto the game and stopping OBS from capturing?

Logs just in case.

I did fix the audio and scene thing posting that log but still having issues. I will attempt to run the windows update and see if that helps.

1. Run OBS as Admin. Right click on shortcut, properties, advanced, check box, ok, apply, ok
2. Display and Game Capture Sources interfere with each other. Never put them in the same scene (Other).

The scene the Display capture is in (Other) is not the scene I am trying to use. I am trying to use a seperate scene with just 1 source, Game Capture.

Just in case, I deleted any scene that has a Display capture. Also, was fairly certain I was running in admin mode on both OBS and Soulstorm itself. Went digging and sure enough Admin mode was disabled. Reticking admin mode AND deleting all unused scenes seems to have fixed the problem. Reliably hooks after restarting OBS, the game, and my PC for now. I will keep an eye on it. Cheers.
