Question / Help Game Lagging While OBS Studio Runs

Hell, my name is Ian. Recently I want to try out streaming so I downloaded OBS Studio on my MacBook Pro. The thing is I don't know how to fix any lag problems since I'm only 12. When I open up OBS Studio, Minecraft lags. When I close OBS Studio, it immediately stops lagging. Also, my stream is 480p, not 720p for some reason. Please help me! Thanks!

I have the same problem and I think it started recently. It doesn't matter if I'm streaming/recording or not, the game gets laggy and choppy even when OBS Studio is idling. By the way, I'm on windows 8.

I did I few tests to identify where the problem is.

1) On OBS Studio, I tried to disable the Preview. It didn't get any better, idling or recording.

2) On OBS Classic, when the program is on idle the game doesn't stutter. During any other circunstamces (Preview stream or recording) the game stutters.

I realized that there's a thread on the Windows support part of the forum, my apologies, I will post in that thread as well.
