Question / Help Game Capture Question

I use game capture to capture my fullscreen games and I noticed it can be a little finicky with picking up my games. So my question is, what is the best game capture options to use? Detect any fullscreen application or manually selecting the game through the drop down list? It seems like sometimes one works and sometimes the other works. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong like should I be launching OBS before I launch a game or vice versa etc? Thanks.

Personally I manually choose the .exe running.
What I do is simply the following: Run OBS -> Run the game ->Add a new Game Capture Source ->Choose the .exe manually.

This works for me.

I did notice, that if I opened the 'Add new Game Capture Source' before opening the game, the game wouldn't show up on the list. I simply cancelled the 'add' and readded :).

Ah, ok. Thank you for your response. So you're re-adding a new game capture source each time you launch obs?
