Hello! I recorded something yesterday with absolutely no issues, using the same settings I've been using for 2 years now. Then suddenly today, I was recording and noticed the sound from my mic was severely distorted. I eliminated the possibility of it being the mic, as I've tested it on other apps, and when I turn off the Gain filter on OBS, it sounds normal (but very quiet, which is why I use a Gain filter). I noticed the issue is also present when I have the Expander filter on as well (previously I used them both, along with other filters like 3-band Equalizer and Noise Suppression. I tried turning all of my filters off, and tried each one by one, and found that the issue is only present when I have the Gain or Expander filter on. I tried adjusting the gain on my audio interface, and I can't get the same boost that the Gain filter achieves. I also use a Limiter filter, and tried lowering the threshold, which doesn't help.
I am at a loss since pretty much nothing has changed since I successfully recorded yesterday. I am using the same hardware and software. I've tried restarting my machine, unplugging and replugging my devices. Removing and re-adding the devices in OBS, to no avail. Any ideas?
Thank you!
