Say I make a new scene then follow the proceeding steps > make a new source > game capture then select capture a specific window > right click on the screen and choose full screen projector then select display 0.
Once I choose to view in full screen projector mode the game or whatever it may be will show up however I can't click on anything I can't interact with the full screen game the only thing I can do is right click and hit close or press esc to exit.

That's what it looks like, unable to click or select, move or do anything.
Would greatly appreciate any help offered. Thank you.

In which way it work? Usually, recording software (like OBS Studio) running in background (or on second monitor, to preview output realtime) and you just play your game, doing art, speak to camera, browsing internet pages or whatever - application simply records all sources you specified to record (OBS Studio also allows to combine sources, like add face camera to background video and so on).

Is there a way to use a projector to present the right-side window in Studio mode for people to see while I maintain the controls and transitions in the left window without the audience seeing it? The projector shows the whole desktop, unlike in Powerpoint presenter view. Any advice on that?

In studio mode, right click the right hand window, you'll see an option for fullscreen projector (program) while the left hand window will be fullscreen projector (preview).

Thanks Narcogen for the guidance. I do see an option but that only brings my desktop to full screen and the projector can still see everything. Do I have to install a driver of some sort to allow OBS to recognise that my projector is a separate screen? If you'd be kind enough, do share with me what a conventional set up is like for projector-based presentations with OBS - I'll be happy to learn more! :)

I think we're talking about different definitions of "projector". OBS calls sending its output, either of the Program or Preview feeds in Studio mode, or the Program feed in hot switch mode, as a "projector". It can be windowed or full screen.

I guess I'm not clear on your problem. If your system only has one monitor, you'll have to control OBS with hotkeys or with external controls like the websocket plugin and another device (tablet, phone, etc). after you put your game full screen.

You don't full screen a preview in OBS to watch a game you are capturing. You set the game to be fullscreen (if that's how you're playing) and OBS captures it. If you have a second screen, you put OBS on that screen and run the controls there.
