Question / Help Fresh Win10 Install and "Encoder Overload" on every setting.

16gb ram
1060 gtx 6gb

I could stream at 1080p, 720p, 30 fps, 60 fps, veryfast to medium preset.
Now even veryfast tells me i am overloading the encoder.

I even used custom preset to test, OBS would go at 60+% cpu usage, and now it goes at 10-17 and spikes to a 100% as i changed to the game window.
Tried game capture, window capture, display capture..

Reinstalled windows again, same problem..

What the hell changed? something changed on Twitch end that you can't push certain encoding settings or???
Cores are not parked, game mode in win 10 is deactivated.

You override many x264 preset settings by using all those custom x264 parameters.
I would remove those custom settings, remove film tune an use keyframe=2s and test again.

Your results are looking normal to me. I had the 3770k before (at 4.5GHz) and 720p 60fps was a problem on some games, especially with x264 presets that are more intense than "fast" preset. I would try very fast.
Bye the way, you got some bandwidth problems as well...maybe check you upload performance and for packet loss. Could also be a problem of your ISP.

Just like calling the ISP..stating the obvious ignoring the issue at hand.
Maybe i should buy a new comp for just streaming like you have been suggesting on other threads?

Fact still remains, i streamed with custom, with medium to veryfast, 30 fps 60 fps at 720 or 1080 in the past.
Something was changed, you clearly can't see it in your precious logs that you keep asking people for.
I suspect it is something in latest windows patches.

Whatever, thought might give these forums a shot but from what i've read here in past years it's a black hole. Thank you for your time though.

Here, OBS at 50+% usage, at 1080p, 0.3% dropped because hardware couldn't handle it because of that custom preset which isn't needed but i did it for the sake of comparison.

This is now running on the first public iteration of windows 10 ver 1551 and not 1709

There is something wrong with the latest version of windows 10.

I am having the exact same problem. encoding overload. I was able to stream 1080p 60fps with 6000 bitrate but something has changed. Were you ever able to fix your issue?
