Hi there,

When I used the x64 in OBS Studio, my stream is lag. But when I used NVENC (i have a GTX960), the stream working normally.

I saw that to use x64 is better than NVENC, so I would like to use x64 for better quality.

Thanks in advanced!

When you use x264 codec you use your CPU, and when your using NVENC, your using your GPU to encode.

So prbly when you use x264, its hitting the CPU limit causing freezes/lagg. With an I5 your hitting the cpu limit fast when using high resolutions and high fps.

What setting your using and check your cpu usage when streaming with x264.

Your I5 supports it, but for example if you playing an verry heavy cpu hungry game in the foreground and your streaming with obs in the background with 1080p@30fps or 720p@60fps, thats pretty heavy for an I5.

I get lagg with my I7 970 (old heavy I7) if i play BF1 with x264 in 1080p@60fps and sometimes 720@60fps. When i set them to 30fps, i can play normal without lagg/no laggy stream.

But you have to check if that is really the case here.

My processor is around 35% use when in X264 mode. And I noticed that my network packets are dropping a lot, even the OBS transmission indicator turns red. But when I use the NVENC mode, the connection is stable and the processor is around 10% use.

PS. The problem is only in the transmission, when I see the preview of the image on the other monitor, it is perfect, without lag or freezing.
