Freeze frame

Hi,
Is it possible to freeze the OBS-output? Would be really helpful for screen sharing, so that I can just “pause” the OBS output, then can navigate to something new on my shared screen, and then press “play” again.
If this has already been asked please point me to it, I only found some threads about freezing the camera input, but not the whole OBS-Output.

Preparing stuff behind the scenes is what Studio mode is for, usually. Click the button for Studio mode, and you get 2 previews. The preview on the right is the one that actually goes out to the stream. The preview on the left is the one you edit behind the scenes. If you click on "transition", the preview on the left is copied to the right and becomes live.
However, the preview is still live while you prepare the next output, so you cannot shuffle windows around on the desktop while streaming a display capture - this can be seen by the audience, of course.

Hi,
I already use the Studio mode. But, how you said, it‘s still live. I hoped for a „Play/Pause“-Button between the two previews, like the „Fade to Black“-Button.

Make a new scene with just a fixed picture loaded (something funny like "hold the line...").
Then blend into this scene just before navigating "unvisible" on your shared screen to the new place, then switch back to your screen-sharing scene.

You can use a shortcut for that. At default in studio mode OBS switches between the two scenes, so you can use the same shortcut (for instance, i do "Ctrl+B" for Blending between the two last choosen scenes).

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately, what you said isn‘t what I was searching for, since I want the audience to still see the frozen screen.

Maybe that works for you?

This works nicely as expected, thanks. Allows me to freeze my virtual camera - a more subtle way to step away from a meeting than switching off the camera. :-)
Just wondering if this kind of filter could be activated from the taskbar dropdown menu, which would be easier than having to find it inside the interface. Happy to donate, but appreciate this little bit of support as well.
Thanks again.

PS I'm using a Mac not Windows.
