Framerate issues in OBS (even while not streaming/recording)

Hello, I've been having issues with my OBS lagging steadily while using my Nintendo Switch. I've tried really everything I can think of--to no avail. Last night a user on Discord suggested I try every USB port on my computer as there might be a loose wire, but that, unfortunately, did not seem to do anything. Just to clarify also, I have no intention of streaming and this error occurs in my OBS preview as well as in video recordings, which is what I intend to use OBS for, so it should have absolutely nothing to do with my internet.
