Frame rate tanks as soon as I start OBS

As the title says, while playing my frame rate drops into the 20s as soon as I start obs. I don't even have to be streaming or recording. All I do is open it and bam, 60fps down to 22fps. This happens at any graphics quality from ultra to low. The game in question is plants vs zombies battle for neighborville.

I also notice my gpu use on idle goes from 7% up to 30%+ just from opening obs. No streaming, no recording, no sources even displayed.

Make sure windows is fully updated
A few things based on your log:
Run OBS as Admin
Turn game bar and game dvr OFF. turn Game Mode ON
All those media sources are active even when not displayed. you have to choose the option to turn them off when not displayed in the source properties.
Limit your framerate in game, preferably to 60fps or 120 if you have the overhead

Are you using a laptop cooler? Playing and streaming on the same laptop will cause thermals to rise very fast and can lead to thermal throttling which will kill resource overhead
