Frame rate on recordings as well as streaming dropping but I don't know why. I haven't been able to find anything to help me please can someone who's knows more then I do help me.

Intel core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz
32.0 GB RAM
64-bit operating system
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M

I am using OBS but I Have also tried Xsplit to record AND stream but both have failed me. I don't have the answer.

I am really new to all of this I am sorry if this seems like a simple issue. I just want to able to stream damnit haha.

I thank you for all of the help.

I saw that someone else included a log file but I dont even know how to extract that :/

Log shows: Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 1134 (9.6%) ... it may be OBS scene or GPU slowdowns.

Log shows using both game_capture and monitor_capture, monitor_capture may cause slowdown problems while running game in full screen.

Check for any GPU/CPU overheating slowdowns by using a monitoring tool, like maybe HWMonitor tool.

A desktop CPU (i7-4790 CPU) with a mobile laptop GPU? (GeForce GTX 970M) Is this an all-in-one computer?

Yes computers can overheat mostly by dust build up that can block airflow. They slow down to avoid overheat damage. They can be cleaned up with compressed air. Desktop tower computers are easier to clean then laptops.

Computer also have built-in temperature sensors in nearly all CPU, most GPU, some motherboard, some hard disk, to be seen by using a tool that can read them.

I'm experiencing the same issues with 0.16.5 -- Any game; when I start streaming with OBS my frames drop to the 15-20 frame region. I generally stream at 720p (from a 4k capture scene) by 48fps without issue.

I've had to resort to using nVidia Experience to Stream (no issues with it), sadly.
