Question / Help Frame Rate Drop- in game and obs- before even hitting the stream button

Let me start by saying I did have my set up working fine previous to this week. I also know about the windows 10 dual monitor problem. As I understand it, both monitors need to be on the same GPU and set to the same refresh rate, which is what I've done. currently set to 60hz (I checked in the Nvidia control panel before this posted). Let me know if I am wrong here.

So far I've observed the problem as follows- opening OBS Studio and Overwatch or Path of Exile causes the frame rates to drop in game and within OBS Studio. As mentioned in the title I haven't done anything except open OBS Studio. No recording active, no streaming in process. Previously before I knew about the windows 10 issue with dual monitors, this problem would only occur when you started streaming, Just having OBS and a game open would not cause this issue, at least not for me. Opening OBS on the same monitor as the game doesn't fix the problem.

I'm sort of lost. Not really sure where to start looking and I have been. Not sure what may have changed in the PC environment that would cause this all of the sudden. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Core I7-3770k overclocked to 4.4 ghz. Stable and have been stream testing at this clock for weeks

Found the problem. Multi-adapter compatibility was checked under game capture properties. I had this un-checked, must of accidentally turned it back on. Found an old forum post on the subject. Just fyi for future lost people.
