Hello! I have a HUGE problem with OBS Studio. For what ever reason, when playing CS:GO and using OBS Studio my FPS drops from around 250-300 to 10-60. Why does this happen, and how do I fix it???

Here are my system's settings:

Why does this happen, and is there a fix to it?

Having the same issues here, I I opened Minecraft and then OBS and observed a large FPS drop.

I'm trying this with default settings, on a mid 2010 macbook pro.

Both of us have also watched what happens in the performance monitor, and when OBS is open without any games being open you see the normal CPU usage around 10%, but then if you open any game (in this case Minecraft and CS:GO) the CPU usage immediately shoots up to over 50%! This happens even if there isn't any sources in OBS, you still see the huge CPU increase.

I have a fair bit of experience with different recording software, and even with programming some of my own recording software, and I still can't figure out what's happening.

I think this is a problem for you amazing OBS devs to solve, it's beyond me, and I think it might be beyond the settings/in the code :)

This isn't really an issue that any logs are going to fix, it's not a crash or a bug, it's something to do with what OBS is doing behind the scenes ;)
No dev is ever going to be able to repro or fix a problem like "OBS drops frames on launch" without a log, given that lots and lots of users don't experience this problem. If the devs were experiencing it, I'm sure it would have been fixed by now. The search for the answer to why some users have it and others don't starts with a good bug report, and those include logs.
