Question / Help Fps lag in OBS but not in game

When I record with Obs on games like GTA 5 and The Forest I get huge fps drops for the video but not in game. I have a gtx 1080 and I7-4790k and I can record games like overwatch with no fps lag in the video but cant get it to work for others. I've tried a billion different settings pleaseeee help

I find it odd that a top of the line GPU such as a GTX 1080 can generate nearly 70% of lagged frames in this log. That said, you're pushing the GPU in those games which OBS doesn't like. It needs some spare GPU power regardless of the settings on it. Enable Vsync @ 60Hz on your games or cap the FPS to something below your minimum FPS (60 is preferred)
