Good evening all! This is an odd issue that I can find no discussion on, but I just discovered it for myself. I've been playing Skyrim: SE for quite some time recently, and my fps NEVER goes above 30 FPS, tops, if in a closed small room. Typically I'm about 20-25 FPS average in some open areas of the game. Oddly enough, when I open OBS and click Start Streaming, my FPS in-game actually doubles. It is quite noticeable, as I'm now getting 40-45 FPS average. Once I click Stop Streaming, even if OBS is still open, the FPS goes back down in-game.
I didn't notice it until I changed a setting under the Output portion of OBS Studio. I changed the encoder from Software with the veryfast preset to Hardware (AMD) with the Balanced Preset. After making this change is when I noticed the huge increase of FPS in-game. I changed the setting back to default while streaming and the FPS in-game dropped again.
My hope is to be able to keep the high FPS in-game even if I'm not streaming. I don't even know that this is the right place to ask, but it seems to be related directly to the OBS software. My video card is an AMD Radeon R9 390 Series. I would appreciate any help you all might have to help me keep this increased performance!
