Question / Help FPS Hit just having OBS Open

Below is the log file for OBS as suggested in the sticky...

In essence, my wife and I have the exact same computer, except she has a GTX 1070 and I have the GTX 1080. OBS works perfectly on her computer with no issues whatsoever.

On my computer, just opening OBS causes a ~20 FPS drop in Battlefield 4. I am unsure what the problem is as I have copied her configuration file exactly over to my computer. I see from the log, several modules are not loading properly and that may be the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I need to do something or post something else, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Experiencing more or less the same thing. Except I have drops on both two almost identical computers, i7-6700k, 16gb ram, 1070 GTX ect.

The module loading errors for libcef.dll, libEGL.dll, and libGLESv2.dll are normal. OBS Studio is loading the DLLs for something else (pretty sure it's the Browser Source plugin). When trying to load its other DLL files, it puts out a warning that they are not OBS Studio modules (they aren't, they're just needed for Browser Source to work). I'm not sure about the pdf.dll error in the 32-bit log.

The only minor difference between your logs I saw is that your microphones are different, but nothing suggests to me why one computer would have FPS drops and the other would not, if they are indeed identical. Is your wife also playing Battlefield 4, or has her computer been tested on different games? Are you both using the same security software (antivirus, firewall, etc.)? Do you both have the same BIOS versions, same video drivers, same OS updates, etc.?

When you say just opening OBS Studio causes an FPS drop in BF4, does OBS Studio have an active game capture source in it, or does it just have an empty scene collection?

To be specific, what configuration file did you copy from your wife's computer?

The only suggestion I have right now is to uninstall OBS Studio from your computer, update OBS Studio to 0.15.4, and try again with a fresh profile and fresh scene collection to see if the issue persists.

Ryto, thanks for your response and below are the answers to your questions.

1. The other difference between our computers in the Motherboards. I am running the ASUS X99-Deluxe II with all of the latest drivers and bios updates. She has the ASUS X99-A II with all of the latest drivers and bios updates.

2. We are both running the same OS with all of the same patches.

3. We are running the exact same security software (Just the Standard Windows Defender)

4. I have tried to open OBS with no Scene or Capture source whatsoever, just blank OBS. What I have noticed is if I minimize OBS (we both run 3 monitors), then the FPS drop goes away.

5. I tried a fresh copy of 0.15.4 with default settings and the same results. The actual settings I moved over were the files in the Profile and Settings directory as a test (I had to set up the microphone, but everything else seemed to populate correctly); same results. I am now running 0.15.4 and set it up manually; same results.

This seems to have something to do with the GTX 1080. I did try with the new NVidia driver (clean install) released on the 30th with same results. I am stumped as to what is causing the problem. I guess I just have to record with OBS minimized; unlike my wife.

Bummer.

Do you still have problems? I seem to still experience the problem, even with multiple updates having shipped since then.
