Question / Help Fps drops with 2nd monitor

Hey guys the problem im having is choppy game play with my second monitor turned on.

My main gaming monitor is 144hz panel and my secondary is only a 60hz monitor my old previous one before i upgraded. I'm pretty sure its my second monitor causing the problem seems one is 144hz and the other is 60hz.

Is there anyway to fix this? or is it something i just have to deal with?

They are in SLI and i've tried with sli disabled and no change. Can i plug my 144hz into the 1st gpu and my 2nd monitor into the 2nd? would that work or am i stupid? *thinking im stupid*
