Hello!

Today i wanted to start streaming cs:go, but when i start streaming then my fps on csgo started droping to 20-60 from my usual 100-200. i tried to stream a month ago, but the only problem then was my network provider, but my fps were great. Now i got 100mbps network with 8mb/s-10mb/s upload speed.

I tried to stream at 1080p @ 60 fps, 720p @ 60fps and 720p @ 30fps and my fps drop was the same in all of those (atleast i think they were the same).

I also tried to instal OBS multiplatform (just to check if it would make a difference if i install it from beginning), but it was the same.

My laptop specs:

They should be fine (considering they were fine 1 month ago)

i7-4710HQ 2.50GHz (up to 3.50 with boost i think)
8gb ram
gtx850m

i saw that many people post their report log, so will i: https://gist.github.com/1ee8932fce6d95e334f2

Could anyone tell me what is the problem for me?

Remove any CS:GO launch options that are -high or -threads. those will cause issues like this.

dont expect miracles, you just have a laptop trying to do all this. 720@30 would be recommended with a CPU heavy game such as CS:GO

do you have a new logfile where you stream for at least 5 minutes of in-game action?

ohh, i just found out my problem i guess... it was lagging for me only when i also open my stream on twitch.tv... i didn't know it took so much energy from my laptop.

got another question, is it the same if i start streaming @ 1080p and then convert to 720p? i read that it is better for quality, but does it take much energy from my laptop?

if you have to look at your stream, use internet explorer since it uses up less CPU for watching streams. (much less)

scaling is done on the GPU. downscaling in lieu just selecting the resolution is better looking and minimal on performance.
this would be comparing the same output of 720p.

i'm guessin i will just put my stream on my tablet as it won't take any of my cpu then.

btw. here is my log for around 20mins or so https://gist.github.com/218e80baff7201c61cb3

i'm atm using 720p @ 60fps, but my fps drop to 80-110 fps tho. i probably will just experiment with those settings, what is going to be best for me.

huge ty for the info. :)
