Question / Help FPS cut in half in-game when OBS is active

Ok, so I am using NDI to transfer from my gaming pc to my streaming pc. Lets say in PUBG I usually get 80-100FPS when OBS isn't on, and when it's on I get 20-30FPS. (Not streaming or anything) I do have an external Elgato to use instead, but the audio is horrendous, needing to use an audio meter program, which sounds like crap to me, because I am used to 7.1 surround w/bass.

I put the process down to low priority but it's very choppy on the streaming PC in OBS. I have not tested the stream yet. But is there anyway for OBS to use minimal CPU?
