Hi, I'm sure this question has been asked to death but I just wanted to get a straight answer for myself.
My stream details:
I game and stream on just one PC.
I stream on Twitch at 720p, 30FPS, with a bitrate of 2500 (x264) CPU: veryfast, profile: high.
My native resolution while gaming is 2560x1440.
What I want:
The best quality downscaling of 1440p to 720p.
What I've tried:
Scaling via Video tab, with base canvas at 1440p and output scaled at 720p. All filters and no filters.
Scaling via checking the "Rescale Output" option and setting it to 720p on the Output tab.
Scaling via Video tab, setting base canvas to 720p and output scaled at 720p. All filters and no filters.
Sadly, there is no clear winner among any of the methods I've tried in terms of quality.
Am I doing something wrong? I'm sure bumping up my bitrate would do wonders, but I can't do that without alienating a lot of potential viewers.
I've watched many people's streams, which I roughly guess use the same settings as me from the results I see when I check their stream using this tool (https://r-1.ch/analyzer/) and their streams always look way better than mine, even in games with a lot of motion, text, and little details like foliage.
I would love to know if anyone with a similar setup has encountered this issue and has found a solution.
Thank you so much in advance!
