Question / Help Flicker/Glitch every few seconds or so while streaming.

Hello everyone,
I seem to have a pretty bad flicker or glitch problem while streaming, this has been going on since I started(august 2016). I've noticed it only happens on high medium or low video quality option on twitch, it does not happen on source. That made me think it was a twitch problem but I had a friend stream on my channel and there's no issues. I've seen the same issue happen to a few other streamers.

If you change the video quality to high you'll see it happen quite a bit in this small highlight here....

The attached file also has a video clip with the problem showing.
TIA

Here's the log file...

does this also happen if you use main profile instead of high?
Thanks for the reply but yeah I tried that, same issue. I did some more testing and seems like whenever I capture a game it's fine, no flickering. Even if I capture the game in display capture. It's only when capturing some applications like after effects or photoshop.

I looked at your stream highlight it looks like it is caused by twitch. Have you tried switching which server you are connected to?

One problem with Twitch video on demand, have to press F5 / reload after changing video quality to actually load different quality.

Video quality looks really good at source. Source is just a pass-through video with whatever OBS have encoded.

But at medium and especially mobile quality, there are flickering mess. As Twitch handles re-compressing for high, medium, low, and mobile quality, the problem is Twitch's encoders being very bad?

That's what I thought after all the trial and error trying to fix the problem. It's strange though because I can get it to stop flickering by just playing a game instead of using after effects or another program that causes it.

Try live stream or upload to YouTube which re-encode video to multiple resolutions for everything. I like to see if the problem exists on YouTube at lower resolutions.

My YouTube streaming (sam6861) have always looks ok for all resolution/quality options.
My Twitch (sam6861) only have "Source" and nothing else, I guess Twitch only re-encode to multiple quality/resolutions for a few people.

Made an account just to say I'm having this exact same issue that started up yesterday, I've tried changed all kinds of settings myself.

Yeah after it started happening to me I went looking for others with the same problem. I know four people with the exact same issue but they don't stream(or care) enough to complain about it. I also found other streams that had the exact same type of flicker which I could only see when watching on lower quality than source. So I'm surprised more people aren't bringing the problem up here even though it might just be twitch.

Yeah I think at this point it is Twitch, in which case, I hope it gets fixed :(

It isn't twitch.

It happens when I stream to YouTube. My LCD monitor flickers as soon as the stream gets picked up by YouTube.
The stream itself as viewed from YouTube is clean but holy cow does it make it hard to do anything.

I fiddled with video settings and nothing seems to work. I am positive this is an OBS issue.
