Question / Help [Fixed??] Mic not delaying

So today I downloaded OBS Studio after learning it might let me get around Vanilla OBS not picking up my Capture Device, and thankfully it does.

My capture device (a Hauppauge 2 Gaming Edition) has about a 5 second delay between what happens on console and what it shows on PC, both when I'm using the official Hauppauge capture software and OBS Studio.

Obviously to work around that I should delay my mic by about 5 seconds as well, so that when I stream theyre both synced up, but for the life of me I cant seem to get the mic to delay at all.

I go into the mixer settings, set the Sync Offset for "Mic/Aux" to 5000ms, and no difference appears to happen.
I make a noise and the audio bar for my Mic peaks instantly. I wonder if this is just a problem with the preview and go to do a test recording, but no, it's instant in recording too.

My mic is some form of Microsoft LifeCam btw. Not exactly the best for streaming but we gotta start somewhere right?

Anyway, if anyone could tell me why I cant get my mic to delay correctly and if I'm doing anything wrong, that'd be super helpful.

Uh ok well after talking with a friend for a bit we actually figured it out finally after this issue taking me all day.

I'm not exactly sure what changed, it might have fixed itself after I rebooted the program and I just failed to re-test it thoroughly enough? I have no idea honestly.

I also found out that OBS Studio actually shortens the delay by a lot, its only like a second of video delay instead of 5 that hauppauge software would have. Things magically worked when my friend just suggested "idk try changing the delay to 820ms instead of 5000". When this worked I thought maybe the sync issue was me having it too high but looking over test videos tells me that it was indeed playing mic before video, so I have no idea what the issue was.

I'd delete this thread since it's no longer an issue but if there's a button for that I cant find it.
