Question / Help [FIXED] Game capture black screen + no game audio

So I'm having two separate problems. The first is that when I try to use game capture I get a black screen. I also get no audio from the game. Audio outside the game works.

I know these are separate issues because I tried to use game capture in OBS and it worked, while the audio was still not working.

Thinking the audio problem might be a driver issue, because I've had issues with programs crashing and the sound from it kept stuttering and required a reboot.

Edit: Fixed both issues. If you're having issues getting game capture to work, uninstall OBS, delete the obs-studio folder, and then reinstall.

For the audio issue, my line out was set to 96k sample rate. Put it at 44.1k and it works fine now. 48k would probably also work as long as OBS is set to that.

Am interested in your other settings too.

I get zero audio from the game (desktop source set as default) and zero audio from the mic, when recording. I'll see both green lines bobbing up and down (or side to side) as I record. But upon playback, silence is all I hear. Already on 44.1.

FIXED: Seems the windows media player is at fault. Audio is fine when played via VLC - although mic audio is much softer than expected even when it was set at 100% and game at 14%, game is still louder.

You can boost your mic if you really need to there is a Gain Filter which you can access by clicking the cog next to your mic in the mixer
