Question / Help Fixed audio with 2 scenes

Hi there,

I stream live music as a DJ. I have created 2 scenes: 1 with Webcam, 2 with Sony camera and Elgato CamLink. This works fine but I cannot choose a fixed audio source. I use Line In of my laptop and want the same audio in both scenes. I could create in both scenes same input, BUT sometimes I have audio-issues and have to delete audio source and add again, so there is a bug. Second problem is that when I change scenes (fading), then audio also is fading. It‘s no big deal but as a musician I hear that volume changes while fading.

So is there a possibility to have one fixed audio Input (Line In)for both sources/scenes?

Thanks for your help!

If you need some audio globally, don't add it as own audio source in your scenes. Instead, define it once at Settings->Audio. Audio added this way is available continuously and in all scenes.

In case you need an audio source in some scenes but not in all scenes, you might need to add as own audio source to the first scene where it should appear. In other scenes where you add it, make sure you add it with the "add existing" option. Not with "add new". This way you make sure the audio device is opened only once and no conflicts will appear. It also might be possible that no fading will happen (I never looked deeper into this tiny detail) if you switch between scenes where the same audio source is referenced in both instead of having the same audio twice under different names. If you add an audio source explicitly to one or more scenes, make sure it doesn't also appear in Settings->Audio as well, because this will cause device conflicts.

Hi koala,

thanks for reply. I found my mistake: when line jack is disconnected, I cannot chose. Now with connected cable it works.

Thanks & take care!
