Question / Help Fixed 30fps and Encoding Lag?

I've recently been encountering various issues with OBS Studio, and I highly doubt it's an issue on my PC since it's equipped with a Core i7-6700K and MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X. Smooth triple-digit frame rates on my games and no situation coming remotely close to a CPU bottleneck. I don't run out of RAM, either, at 16GB DDR4-3000MHz.

When I record with OBS Studio at 1080p, sometimes the frame rate on my recording eventually drops to 30fps. Oddly enough, it's a very stable 30fps, yet when I look at the video file, it is supposedly recorded at 60fps. In a video editor, it becomes clear that it's 30fps with each frame repeating itself to become 60fps. I thought maybe closing the application and reopening it would help, but on my first recording, I lost about 23% of my 3-4 minute footage due to encoding lag (the screen stood still on one frame while the audio progressed normally).

I haven't been changing my settings at all, so I doubt it's a setting change (unless the application did it by itself)) that's causing this issue. I'm making sure to run the program as admin. Any more bright ideas on how to finally get stable 60fps footage?

Got the same problem. Something changed out of the blue, i dont know why. only lowering ingame resolution helps, but that was never a problem before. obs sometimes shows 20-30fps in the info bar and the game runs at 60fps without lag. this startet some weeks ago (maybe creators update related? )

so this might be a windows/obs compatibility bug?
