First time today issue to stop a recording

Dear

I have a windows 10 pro latest update laptop msi CR 61.

It's the first time that the recording could be stopped, and maybe also last weeks I got an meesage showing in OBS while recording that it's getting to much to render (or something like that) but it was still recording and I had no issues to stop the recording.

Wat happened:
after 27 minutes somethign happened on my laptop , and now after 3 hours of recording, thinking that OBS is still recording, I see that only 27 min is recorded.

pressing te stop button, or my combination keyboard hit, OBS keeps saying that'is closing.

Then I closed OBS from the menu, I received a warning that a recording is ongoing and will be stopped.

Then I wanted to start OBS again, but it says that is already a instance running ... .

I do see the icon next to my icons (near the clock).

I can't get it to shut down.

Maybe it's still buzzy processing the 3 hours recording?
Is there a change it will succeed?

It would be great if OBS would stop recording if something happens, so then I know I need to restart OBS and start again recording.

As it seems OBS was recording without issues, I even hit the pauze button, then hit again to continue to record, I did this after 2 hours recording.

What happened after 27 minutes: I wanted to close a RDS session, so I rightlick the icon on my taksbar, then hit the close (X) on the little screen that appears, and suddenly al my screens had a black bacground. one screen was showing all windows but very crazy. After restaring a few times windows explorer, my screens were back ok.

Thinking that the recording was ok as OBS was still showing the time that it was recording.

Update
at this moment at least 12 hours passed, while the icon is still active of OBS and in the taskmanagement the procesor was buzzy (2% max processor and GPU 8,2% max) gpu-engine is mentioned : GPU 0 - 3D .

The video file is till the same (114 MB) 27 min.

I asume OBS is not processing anymore... hmm

Your encoder probably crashed, nothing will happen anymore.
Kill obs64.exe in Taskmanager and start new.

I stoped the exe from taskmanger, then I could start OBS again. I also changed the settings according to another thread. so hope it will go better. I really hope that OBS will add something that allow us to stop all and start again a new recording, instead of keeping telling it's recording.

Something is wrong with your computer (possible, but less likely), or OBS and its settings if you can't stop a recording anytime you want
FYI - some 3rd party plug-ins are notorious for causing problems in OBS

I don't think I have 3rd party plugins, installed OBS without extra plugins. but my pc was verry buzzy, so maybe my laptop is not strong enough to process al these requests. although I have done this several time, but yesterday first time this happened. maybe a long time ago it happens also once.
Is there a best requirements to use OBS together with other apps linke Zoom vidoe is on , and OBS and outlook, excel, .. . dropbox, google drive, icloud... antivirus...
I even disables these thing to keep zoom working well. with obs. But sometimes I need to open something like pdf dan the audio from zoom becomes bad for some seconds... . Mamybe time for new laptop or pc... .

I'm not sure where to look for to find 3rd party plugins, I checked the filters, all are empty.
I don't remember if I installed a 3rd party, where can is see if one is installed?

Dear according to a threat best is to use software in stead of hardeware encoding (QSV) but if I start the wizard configuration, it selects hardware encoding as best.

It's for recording only.
What should I choose?keep QSV or try software encoding?

QSV usually makes more sense... but it depends

Dear , hope i still can use this thread as the same issue occured on a new laptop.

I didn't follow up on latest request to send the log.

See attached log .

recording stops (but obs keeps saying its recording) , first recording is 57 min long , second try: 1hour 47 min. but both should be arround 2 hours 15 min .
Trying to stop recording , OBS tries to stop the recording but it keeps this status for long time.

I used best configuration according to OBS configuration Wizard.

It worked well until yesterday first time , on this new laptop.
