Rendering issues. GPU reaching its limits.

I think your PC is weak to record/encode live video.

That's a shame. The GPU? It's just an integrated intel, but other than the first few seconds, screen records are good. I didn't think simple screen records were that demanding on the GPU. Would tweaking any settings help? Anyway, thanks for taking a look.

Well, I started playing around with settings, and simply switching to mkv gets rid of the 3 sec delay. I'd really prefer to use mp4, but that's the one with the issue.

Well, this never occurred to me, but it's starting to look like the 3 sec delay when recording in mp4 isn't necessarily a (bad?) glitch in the file created, but perhaps in the media player I'm using. The delay only happens in MPC-HC. I downloaded VLC and it plays them fine. Also checked in Windows built-in video app, and it also plays them fine. So weird.

I'd like to test a hardware encoded OBS screen record (in mp4) made on a different computer in MPC-HC to see if it is also delayed.

Btw, I really prefer MPC-HC because of all the extra customizations not available in VLC. This is the first time it's ever had any issue playing files. Maybe the encode is not perfection, and other players compensate, whereas MPC-HC does not?
