Bug Report Firewire Camera Not Detected

I have a firewire camera on a mac with an adapter from firewire to thunderbolt. QuickTime, iMovie, and Livestream Producer recognize and use this camera just fine. OBS does not acknowledge that it exists. A dumb workaround exists where I capture the QuickTime window, but this is far from ideal.

Mac is really annoying when it comes to foreign video capture devices. Nearly always you would have to download some 3rd party application to even view the captured footage.

I assume your firewire plugs into your USB of your computer. So you'll need to find a way to make your mac see it as a webcam.

It's not a problem with the Mac. As I said, QuickTime, iMovie, and Livestream Producer all recognize it just fine.

It's also plugged in via a firewire to thunderbolt adapter (Don't ask why we're using such an old camera with new iMacs, it's stupid, I know).

Hello all. Has there been any resolution to this issue? I am having the same problem on a Windows 10 computer. Other programs can see my old firewire connected camcorder just fine but not OBS. I have had to resort to using OBS Classic for my needs. I can do the workaround using window capture with VLC player but that is not ideal.

Thanks
